Miami (Ohio) beats Northern Illinois 60-55

DEKALB, Ill. -- Will Sullivan scored 14 points, made four free throws in the closing seconds and Miami (Ohio) won for the first time on the road with a 60-55 victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday.

Northern Illinois' Anthony Johnson scored five straight points to tie it at 54 with 2:08 to play. Eric Washington answered with a layup to give the Redhawks a 56-54 lead. Darrell Bowie split a pair of free throws to pull the Huskies within one before Sullivan made his shots from the line with 19 and 13 seconds left to ice it for the Redhawks, who led for all but 3 minutes.

Miami (7-12, 2-4 Mid-American) had been 0-7 on the road.

Aaron Armstead scored 15 points to lead Northern Illinois (8-9, 2-4). The Huskies shot 17 of 51 for 33 percent, were just 5 of 30 for 16.7 percent from deep, and missed nine free throws.
