Miller, Cornell beat Columbia 57-47

NEW YORK -- Shonn Miller had 18 points, nine rebounds and four blocks on Saturday and Cornell beat Columbia 57-47.

Cornell (9-9, 1-1 Ivy League) pulled away with a 12-2 run to a 47-34 lead on Galal Cancer's layup with 4:41 to play. Cancer had six points during that stretch and finished with 16.

Dave LaMore's tip-in at the first-half buzzer gave Cornell the lead for good at 27-25. The Big Red pushed ahead with the first four points of the second half and Columbia (9-7, 1-1) got no closer than 35-32 with 10:44 to play.

Isaac Cohen had 13 points, Maodo Lo scored 11 and Cory Osetkowski grabbed 11 boards to lead the Lions.

Columbia led most of the first 10 minutes and as much as 15-9 on Steve Frankoski's jumper with 9:49 left. Cornell answered with a 7-0 run to pull ahead and the teams played back-and-forth until the break.
