Freeman scores 21 points; Old Dominion beats Marshall 67-50

NORFOLK, Va. -- Trey Freeman scored 21 points, Richard Ross had a double-double and Old Dominion rolled to a 67-50 victory over Marshall on Thursday night.

Old Dominion (23-6, 12-5 Conference USA) has won five straight and is in a four-way tie with UTEP, Western Kentucky and UAB for second place in the conference. The Monarchs hosts Western Kentucky on Saturday in their final regular season game.

Old Dominion led 33-29 at the break, opened the second half on an 11-4 surge to take a 44-33 lead and cruised from there.

Freeman was 10 of 16 from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds. Ross finished with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 10 rebounds. Denzell Taylor pulled in eight boards for the Monarchs, who outrebounded the Thundering Herd 36-28.

Austin Loop scored 13 points to lead Marshall (11-19, 7-10).
