Georgetown beats Marist 27-7

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Kyle Nolan threw for one touchdown and ran for another on Saturday and Phil Novacki returned an interception 48 yards for a score to help Georgetown beat Marist 27-7.

Nolan's 11-yard TD pass to Michael Cimilluca early in the second half settled Georgetown's offensive jitters and capped a 12-play, 70-yard drive. The Hoyas (1-2) struggled early on offense and couldn't cash in on an interception Mick Alfieri returned 42 yards to the Marist 3. Georgetown led 6-0 at halftime on field goals by Harry Darmstadter.

Novacki's pick-off for a score came early in the fourth quarter on one of three interceptions thrown by Ed Achziger. Nolan kept the momentum going with a 10-yard TD run to end an 11-play drive.

Zach Adler returned a punt 91 yards for a score for Marist (0-3), which generated 140 total yards of offense to Georgetown's 288.
