ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- New York Yankees right fielder Carlos Beltran was out of Friday night's starting lineup against Tampa Bay due to left shoulder and right wrist soreness.
Beltran flipped over the short wall down the right field line while chasing Desmond Jennings' foul ball in Thursday night's 10-2 win over the Rays. Beltran finished the game and had an MRI of the shoulder and wrist.
"Everything came back fine," Beltran said. "Nothing is broken. Just sore."
Yankees manager Joe Girardi hasn't ruled out Beltran returning Saturday night.
"Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better and can be in the lineup," Beltran said. "I'm shooting for that."
