ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo is set to make his pro debut for the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Red Sox Sunday.

Boston manager John Farrell announced the news after the Red Sox beat Tampa Bay 8-4 on Friday night. The Red Sox signed Castillo to a seven-year, $72.5 million contract last Saturday.

Castillo has been working out at the Red Sox complex in Fort Myers, Fla. and will likely play three innings in Game 2 of the GCL championship series against the Yankees.

Castillo will join fellow Cuban star Yoenis Cespedes in Boston's new-look outfield. Trying to improve a weak lineup, the Red Sox obtained Cespedes from Oakland and Allen Craig from St. Louis at the July 31 trade deadline.
