LEADING OFF: Bumgarner looking for better July, Cabrera hurt
A look at what's happening all around the major leagues Saturday:
---
SLUGGER DOWN
The Detroit Tigers may have to do without their big slugger as they continue their series against the Toronto Blue Jays. First baseman Miguel Cabrera left Friday's game in the fourth inning with a strained left calf and will have an MRI. The two-time AL MVP was on first base with no outs and a 3-2 count to Victor Martinez and took off with the pitch. Martinez fouled the ball off, but Cabrera pulled up sharply, grabbing his left leg.

A BETTER JULY?
2014 World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner (8-4, 2.99) makes his first start in July. He was 2-2 in five starts in June, allowing 33 hits and 12 earned runs in 39 innings.
He faces Stephen Strasburg (5-5, 5.49), who is looking to build on the two starts he's made since returning from the DL with neck tightness. He allowed two runs and eight hits in 12 innings in those starts.

STILL 60 FEET, 6 INCHES, RIGHT?
Left-hander Clayton Richard (0-0), who was acquired in a trade Friday from the Pittsburgh Pirates and hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2013 with San Diego, will start for the Chicago Cubs against the Miami Marlins.
Also, Arizona left-hander Patrick Corbin is set to start against Colorado in his first big league appearance since September 2013. A 2013 NL All-Star in his first full big-league season, Corbin had Tommy John surgery in March 2014.
---
WRONG KIND OF STREAK
The St. Louis Cardinals try to get back to their winning ways after losing their fourth straight game Friday for the first time this season. They still have the best record in the majors at 51-28 and lead the NL Central.
---
ROTATION BOOST
Marlins RHP Jarred Cosart will return to the starting rotation after missing a month with vertigo. Cosart made a relief appearance on June 26 against the Dodgers when he allowed two earned runs and six hits in four innings.
