Wizards forward Nene sits out with foot injury
WASHINGTON -- Wizards forward Nene is sidelined with a right foot injury.
Nene missed Tuesday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks with plantar fasciitis and could also miss Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Nene left with six minutes remaining in the first quarter of the Wizards' win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. He did not practice on Monday and was sent to a doctor to have the foot checked out.
Tuesday marked the first game Nene has missed due to injury this season, but he has been injury-prone in recent years, including an extended bout of plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He hasn't played more than 61 games in a season since joining the Wizards in 2012.
Nene is averaging 10.6 points and 4.7 rebounds this season.
