Kent State takes 79-60 victory over Saint Francis (Pa)
KENT, Ohio -- Jimmy Hall scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Kent State beat Saint Francis (Pennsylvania) 79-60 on Tuesday night.
Xavier Pollard added 11 points for the Golden Flashes (3-1). Kent State took care of the ball with only five turnovers to 15 assists.
Greg Brown had 21 points for the Red Flash (2-2) on 8-of-12 shooting, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range. However, the rest of his team was 1 of 10 from the arc and shot only 37.3 percent from the field. Josh Nebo added 11 points, seven from the free-throw line.
Kent State never trailed and led by 11 at halftime. The Golden Flashes had a 25-point lead, 70-45, after Chris Ortiz's basket with 8:06 to go.
The victory was the second in a row for Kent State while Saint Francis had a two-game win streak snapped.
