IPFW holds on to beat UNC-Greensboro 64-58
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Max Landis scored 14 points and made two free throws in the final minute as IPFW held on to beat UNC-Greensboro 64-58 in the Spartan Showcase on Saturday night.
Landis made two 3-pointers and was 6 of 7 from the line. John Konchar had 13 points and nine rebounds for IPFW (6-1), which has won since six straight since losing its opener to Valparaiso.
Kayel Locke had 13 points to lead UNC Greensboro (2-3). RJ White added 11 points with nine rebounds.
The Mastodons used an 11-4 run to build their largest lead, 46-33 with 11:50 remaining. Michael Calder made two 3-pointers, Landis added another and Konchar made two free throws during the stretch.
Diante Baldwin scored his nine points during a 14-6 surge to pull the Spartans to 59-56 with 52 seconds left. Landis made two free throws, and Konchar scored three points to seal it.
