UNC-Greensboro dominates Western Carolina in 75-58 win
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Kayel Locke scored 17 points, and Asad Lamot added 13 points to lead North Carolina-Greensboro past Western Carolina 75-58 on Thursday night.
The Catamounts are winless on the road, and had their eight-game win streak snapped against North Carolina-Greensboro.
The Spartans (9-14, 5-5 Southern) raced to 21-6 lead and were never challenged. Francis Alonso started the onslaught with back-to-back 3-pointers, and RJ White, Marvin Smith, Locke and Demetrius Troy all followed with jump shots in succession. The Spartans led 38-21 at halftime, and finished 26-for-57 shooting.
Locke shot 7 for 13 from the floor and 3 for 3 from the line, and grabbed eight rebounds. White finished with 12 points and added four blocks.
Mike Brown scored 20 points for Western Carolina (8-15, 3-7). Torrion Brummitt had 13 points and Justin Browning added 10.
