East Tennessee overtakes Greensboro 68-65
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Deuce Bello scored 16 points, T.J. Cromer added 13 and East Tennessee overtook UNC Greensboro in the final minute for a 68-65 win Saturday.
Leading by as much as 10, East Tennessee (15-9, 8-3 Southern) fell behind midway through the second half but stayed close, then edged back on top with Ge'Lawn Guyn's 3-point play to make it 66-65 with 40 seconds left. Bello padded it with a dunk with 13 seconds to go and Greensboro's Kayel Locke missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Guyn and Desonta Bradford finished with 11 points apiece while Isaac Banks hauled in 10 rebounds for the Buccaneers, who shot 50 percent from the field and 10 for 18 from long range.
Francis Alonso led Greensboro (9-15, 5-6) with 16 points. Demetrius Troy added 14, Locke had 13 and RJ White grabbed 11 rebounds for the Spartans.
