New Hampshire beats Maine 88-75 for 3rd straight win
DURHAM, N.H. -- Tanner Leissner had 26 points and nine rebounds, Ronnel Jordan added 25 points with 11 boards and New Hampshire beat Maine 88-75 on Monday night.
Leissner had 16 points in the first half to help New Hampshire build a 43-38 lead.
Maine was within 70-66 with five minutes left after Ryan Bernstein's 3-pointer, but New Hampshire replied with a 9-2 run for an 11-point lead at the 1:59 mark. The Black Bears cut it to single digits three times from there but Jordan made two big shots and Daniel Dion hit 4 of 4 free throws.
Jaleen Smith scored 12 points for New Hampshire (14-9, 7-3 America East), which was just 5 of 23 from distance but made 21 of 24 free throws.
Kevin Little led Maine (8-16, 4-7) with 23 points and Shaun Lawton added 19. Aaron Calixte had 12 points for the Black Bears, who were outrebounded 40-29.
