Leissner lifts New Hampshire over Albany 69-68

DURHAM, N.H. -- Tanner Leissner's 3-point play gave New Hampshire the lead with 15.4 seconds left and the Wildcats held on Thursday night to beat Albany 69-68.

Evan Singletary pulled up for a contested 3-point attempt that missed long as time expired for Albany (20-7, 9-3 America East). Leissner finished with 20 points, his third game in a row scoring at least 20 for New Hampshire (15-9, 8-3).

The Wildcats took the lead at 48-46 with 14:57 left and stayed in front until the final minute. Albany rallied with a 12-2 run capped by Ray Sanders' free throws that gave the Great Danes a 68-66 lead with 28.4 seconds left.

Leissner answered with a strong move from the top, finishing with contact in the lane to get his 3-point play opportunity.

Jaleen Smith added 16 points and Iba Camara 12 for the Wildcats. Sanders scored 23 and Singletary 10 for the Great Danes.
