Harvard ends skid with 79-73 win over Brown.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Agunwa Okolie and Corbin Miller led a balanced Harvard attack with 14 points apiece and the Crimson held off Brown 72-66 on Friday night.
Harvard trailed 33-28 at the half but Corey Johnson hit consecutive 3-pointers in a 10-2 run that produced a 49-35 lead with 11:23 to play. After a 3 from Brown's Steve Spieth, Miller hit a 3 and Okolie had a 3-point play to make it 55-48.
Brown stayed close but in the last 1:24 Harvard made 13 of 16 free throws.
Johnson and Patrick Steeves had 14 points each and Zena Edosomwan 13 for Harvard (10-13, 2-5) and Okolie had a career-high 12 rebounds. The Crimson made 24 of 34 free throws to end a five-game losing streak. It was the 80th league win for coach Tommy Amaker, tying for ninth in Ivy history.
Tavon Blackmon had 19 points for Brown (7-14, 2-5), Obi Okolie had 14, and Spieth and JR Hobbie 10 apiece.
