Lamb's 4 TDs power Appalachian State past Old Dominion 49-0
NORFOLK, Va. -- Taylor Lamb threw a career-high four touchdown passes to lead Appalachian State to a 49-0 win over Old Dominion on Saturday.
Lamb completed 11 of 15 passes for 187 yards and spread the ball around, sending TD throws to four different receivers, including a 53-yarder to Bobo Beathard. Marcus Cox, who hauled in another of the scoring throws, rushed for 107 yards on 23 carries, piercing the century mark for the sixth-straight game.
Terrence Upshaw put the Mountaineers (2-1) on the board with a 6-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Devan Stringer recovered a fumble by Old Dominion's Shuler Bentley and returned it 77 yards for a score. Also pulling down touchdown catches were Shaedon Meadors and Hunter Nunn. Jalin Moore ran in the final score from the 22.
Bentley passed for 133 yards and two interceptions for Old Dominion (2-2), which was held to just 175 total yards.
