Vikings practice squad QB Harnish has foot injury
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings practice squad quarterback Chandler Harnish has a foot injury that will keep him out for at least several weeks.
Coach Mike Zimmer said Harnish was inadvertently stepped on by a teammate in practice Wednesday. Harnish saw a foot specialist and was diagnosed with a Grade 1 Lisfranc sprain. The Vikings were planning to try out other quarterbacks for Harnish's spot.
With Matt Cassel out for the season, also with a Lisfranc injury, the only quarterbacks on the active roster are Teddy Bridgewater and Christian Ponder.
Zimmer also said tight end Kyle Rudolph is continuing to progress in his recovery from sports hernia surgery. There's a possibility he can return after the bye week for the Nov. 16 game at Chicago.
