Philip Rivers practices, should start against Rams
SAN DIEGO -- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers practiced again Friday and should start against the visiting St. Louis Rams.
Rivers' status for Sunday's game is probable.
Tight end Antonio Gates said earlier this week that Rivers, who has struggled while the Chargers have lost three of their past four games, had a "severe rib injury."
Coach Mike McCoy said Friday there have been no setbacks with Rivers.
Said McCoy: "He's doing great. He's doing outstanding."
Nose tackle Ryan Carrethers is out with a right elbow injury.
Safety Jahleel Addae (concussion) increased his practice time on Friday and is questionable for the game.
Center Rich Ohrnberger (back, ankle) didn't practice this week but is listed as questionable. If Ohrnberger is unavailable, rookie Chris Watt is expected to make his first NFL start.
