Jets sign veteran tight end Kellen Davis
NEW YORK -- The New York Jets have signed veteran tight end Kellen Davis, adding a big blocker to their offense.
The 6-foot-7, 265-pound Davis signed with the Giants last offseason, but was cut during the summer. He was signed by the Lions in October, released and then re-signed and played in six games, mostly as a blocker.
Davis was a fifth-round draft pick of Chicago in 2008 out of Michigan State. He played five seasons with the Bears, and has also spent time with Cleveland and Seattle.
Davis has 50 catches for 561 yards and 12 touchdowns.
