EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants have re-signed place-kicker Chris Boswell.
The Giants announced the move Wednesday, a day before their exhibition finale against the New England Patriots.
New York made the move because veteran Josh Brown bruised his leg two weeks ago when he made a tackle against Jacksonville.
Boswell was in the Giants' training camp until being waived on Aug. 16. He will play on Thursday.
The Giants had an available roster spot after cutting to 74 players on Tuesday, one below the league limit.
