NEW YORK -- Brandon Marshall is serving up some rather interesting, if maybe not particularly palatable, food combinations for his offseason diet.

The New York Jets star wide receiver is trying to lose a few pounds, at coach Todd Bowles' request, before the team begins training camp late next month. The 6-foot-4 Marshall, who turned 32 in March, said Bowles wants him to play at under 230 pounds -- his weight last season -- this year after averaging around 234-235 the previous few years.

"He said, `Brandon, you were so fast in Miami, that's what I want you at," Marshall said in a video posted on Twitter.

Bowles and Marshall were previously together with the Dolphins during the 2010 and `11 seasons.

So, earlier this week, Marshall let everyone into his kitchen for a little peek at his meal concoctions, posting them on Twitter with the hashtag "Todd Bowles Diet."

First up, Monday's special: blueberries and ... grouper fish ?

On Thursday, the fare was a bit more standard: grilled chicken and broccoli.

On the menu Friday was grilled chicken again "with a dab -- a Cam Newton dab" of sea salt and a side of yummy ... cabbage ?

Marshall set the Jets franchise record with 109 catches, the second-highest total of his 10-year career, along with 1,502 yards receiving and a career-best 14 touchdowns after being acquired last offseason in a trade with Chicago. He also became the first player in NFL history with 1,000-yard seasons with four teams.

While Jets fans anxiously wait to see if Ryan Fitzpatrick will re-sign with New York at some point this offseason, Marshall clearly has no intentions of having a drop-off in his production -- no matter who the quarterback is.

That means he's training -- and eating -- as best he can.

Oh, and to prove it, Marshall posted another video of himself running on a treadmill at an eye-popping 23 mph.

"Is this what u want coach Bowles?" Marshall wrote. "Last time I did this was (in) 2011. Not with the arms up tho."
