LSU running back Leonard Fournette was a finalist in the Doak Walker Award list a season ago and is one of the favorites for the award this season.

On Thursday, Fournette was one of 13 running backs out of the SEC to appear on the Doak Walker Award watch list, which honors the nation's top running back. Last year's Doak Walker Award winner was Alabama's Derrick Henry, who also went on to win the Heisman Trophy.

Fournette, a rising junior, led the NCAA a season ago in rushing averaging 162.8 yards a game with 22 touchdowns for the Tigers.

Georgia has two 1,000 yards rushers on the list with juniors Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. Chubb rushed for 1,547 yards a freshman and was on pace to do the same in 2015, rushing for 747 yards before an injury on Oct. 10 knocked him out for the season. Michel took over for Chubb last year after the injury and rushed for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns.

Alabama is replacing Henry at running back and has two players on the list in sophomores Damian Harris and Bo Scarborough.

Other SEC players on the list are:

Brandon Holloway (Sr.), Mississippi State

Jalen Hurd, (Jr.) Tennessee

Alvin Kamara (Jr.), Tennessee

Kody Walker (Sr.), Arkansas

Rawleigh Williams III (So.), Arkansas

Ralph Webb (Jr.), Vanderbilt

David Williams (Jr.), South Carolina,

Stanley Williams (Jr.), Kentucky
