Wide receiver Nate Brown out 6-8 weeks with high left ankle sprain

College Football, Missouri Tigers

Missouri junior wide receiver Nate Brown will miss six to eight weeks with a high left ankle sprain, the school announced Wednesday.

Brown had 326 receiving yards last season, second most for the Tigers, and led the team with four receiving touchdowns.

Missouri coach Barry Odom didn't rule out surgery as a possibility for Brown.

"They've got another meeting [Wednesday with doctors] to see if that's the way they were going to go or not," Odom told The Kansas City Star. "If it is, it's a pretty quick procedure. ... If they do or don't, the time frame is around the same time."

With Brown sidelined, Missouri has top receiver J'Mon Moore available. Moore had a team-high 29 receptions for 350 yards last season.

Senior Eric Laurent, sophomores Keyon Dilosa and Emanuel Hall and junior Dominic Collins could see playing time with Brown's absence, Missouri wide receivers coach Andy Hill told the Columbia Missourian.
