Results from the autopsy in the death of Arizona offensive lineman Zach Hemmila show his death was caused by the toxic effect from the combination of two prescription drugs, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
The autopsy report, which the newspaper obtained from the Pima County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, showed oxymorphone, a painkiller, and alprazolam, used to treat anxiety, were found in his body.
Hemmila died the night of Aug. 7. His death was ruled an accident, the Daily Star reports.
"Arizona Athletics continues to mourn the passing of Zach Hemmila," Arizona said in a statement. "We will honor the family's request for privacy and support them in any way we can."
Hemmila, a Chandler, Arizona, native, played in all 13 games last season and started six games. He was set to compete to be the starting center this year.
