Michigan linebacker Jabrill Peppers shoved a fan after the No. 3 Wolverines' 30-27 double-overtime loss at No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday, but a team source said Peppers was merely defending himself and won't face discipline.
Fans rushed the field after Curtis Samuel scored the winning touchdown, and several Michigan players complained on Twitter that they were pushed and heckled. Michigan had no official comment, but the source said that fans were coming at Peppers "from all sides" and taunting him. The source said the school was upset with Ohio State's security measures after the game.
A Big Ten released a statement on the incident that read: "The conference has a process and procedures that it follows in evaluating these situations, and will not have any further comment at this time."
