Torii Hunter reportedly discussing front-office role with Twins

Former Minnesota Twins outfielder Torii Hunter is discussing a front-office role in the organization with new executives Derek Falvey and Thad Levine, according to a report from the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Hunter made his major league debut with the Twins in 1997 and was with the team until 2007. Hunter signed with the Los Angeles Angels prior to the 2008 season. He spent five seasons in Los Angeles and two with the Detroit Tigers before returning to the Twins in 2015, the final season of his playing career. During his first tenure in Minnesota, Hunter won seven Gold Gloves and was twice named to the American League All-Star team.

LaTroy Hawkins, who pitched for the Twins from 1995-2003, has reportedly accepted a special assistant position with the organization. Hunter and Hawkins served as special instructors for the Twins during spring training last year.

Michael Cuddyer and Corey Koskie, both recently retired former Twins, are reportedly also being considered for special assistant roles with the team.
