Houston Astros outfielder George Springer left Monday night's 13-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies because of discomfort in his left quadriceps. Springer went 0-for-2 before being pulled in the bottom of the third inning. He appeared to twist awkwardly on a throw from center field as he doubled up Andrew Knapp at first base to end the inning. Astros manager A.J. Hinch said Springer is considered day-to-day. "We're going to be very careful with him. We've got a couple decisions in the next couple days before an off day on Thursday," Hinch said. The 27-year-old Springer came into the game hitting .310 with 27 home runs and 66 RBIs. "I tried to go after the ball and my foot went one way and my body went the other," said Springer. "It happens. I'll be all right. We'll see what happens [Tuesday] and hopefully I can help the team."
