Robinson Cano leaves Mariners game with left hamstring tightness

ATLANTA -- Robinson Cano has left Seattle's 9-6 win over the Atlanta Braves with tightness in his left hamstring.

Cano walked off the field following his second double of the game in the third inning. He pulled up as he approached second base. He walked off the field, accompanied by a trainer.

The Mariners also lost center fielder Guillermo Heredia, who left in the eighth after being hit on his right forearm by a pitch from Atlanta's Jason Motte in the seventh.

"The initial signs are they're going to be all right," said manager Scott Servais.

Servais said Cano had "pretty good strength" in the hamstring when tested. He said Heredia has been hit in the same spot "a couple times the last week or so."

The Mariners have a day off Thursday before opening a series at the Yankees on Friday night.

With the two doubles, Cano has 507 for his career, passing Babe Ruth for 57th all-time.

Taylor Motter replaced Cano and had two hits, including a double of his own.

"Hopefully Robbie is not out, honestly I hope he is not out too long, but if he is I feel ready," Motter said. "I feel good in the box and I want to help this team win a wild card."
