Kawhi Leonard misses third straight game as Spurs knocked out of postseason

NBA, San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs were without forward Kawhi Leonard for Monday night's Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors, a 129-115 loss that eliminated the Spurs from the postseason.

It was the Spurs' third straight game without the MVP finalist due to a left ankle injury.

The Spurs also were without David Lee, who suffered a torn left patellar tendon in Game 3.

Leonard, San Antonio's leading scorer, had been listed as doubtful for Game 4.

He originally suffered the ankle injury in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets, and he aggravated it by landing on the foot of the Warriors' Zaza Pachulia following a jump shot in the opening game of the conference finals.

Golden State outscored the Spurs by 87 points after Leonard exited Game 1 with 7:52 remaining in the third quarter with San Antonio leading 78-55.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
