Free-agent defensive tackle Sammie Lee Hill has been suspended for the first four weeks of the NFL season for violating the NFL's drug policy, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.
Hill missed a scheduled drug test, resulting in the violation and subsequent suspension, a source told ESPN's Adam Caplan, confirming a report by the NFL Network.
Hill, 29, had been the Tennessee Titans' starting nose tackle over the two years they've been using a 3-4 defensive scheme. He missed the team's first six games last year as he recovered from knee surgery.
Hill was originally a fourth-round pick, 115th overall out of Stillman, by the Detroit Lions.
ESPN Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky contributed to this report.
