Dallas LB Sean Lee has MRI on sore knee; he's OK, Jason Garrett says

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee has not taken part in a full practice since last week's preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks because of a sore left knee.

Lee had an MRI on Monday and coach Jason Garrett said the results were positive. Garrett did not believe it was a long-term issue. Lee played in 18 snaps in the first half against Seattle.

"He's making progress to come back and we're hopeful he'll be able to do that sooner rather than later," Garrett said.

Lee had arthroscopic surgery in the offseason that kept him out of the organized team activities and minicamp. Lee missed the 2014 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and the scope was deemed a cleanup. He was held out of a couple of training camp practices in Oxnard, California, as well, which is something Garrett did for a number of veterans.

Garrett said it was "premature" to say the Cowboys will have to manage Lee through practice once the regular season starts.

"It's something that has been bothering him the last couple days so we've acted accordingly, and we'll take his situation day by day," Garrett said. Lee is coming off his best season in which he was added to the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement after the coaches credited him with 156 tackles. He has not played a full season in his career, missing two games with a concussion and hamstring strain last season.
