Kelvin Beachum clears protocol, will practice Wednesday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jaguars left tackle Kelvin Beachum has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and will return to practice on Wednesday, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

Beachum hasn't practiced since he was injured late in the third quarter of the Jaguars' loss to San Diego on Sept. 18.

Replays show that he was kneed in the head while falling to the ground. He was taken off the field on a cart and spent the night in a San Diego hospital before returning to Jacksonville the following day.

Luke Joeckel, who was moved to left guard after the team signed Beachum as a free agent in March, started at left tackle in Beachum's place Sunday in a loss to Baltimore.

The Jaguars signed Beachum to a one-year contract with a four-year option. His start in the season opener was his first game since he tore his left ACL on Oct. 18 while playing for Pittsburgh.

The Jaguars (0-3) travel to London this week to play Indianapolis (1-2) in Wembley Stadium.
