Colts lose starters T.Y. Hilton, Ryan Kelly, Vontae Davis to injuries versus Steelers

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts were forced to play much of Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers without three starters.

Colts receiver T.Y. Hilton (back), center Ryan Kelly (shoulder) and cornerback Vontae Davis (groin) were all knocked out with injuries.

Hilton suffered his back injury when he took a hit from Steelers safety Mike Mitchell on a 32-yard completion late in the second half. Hilton gingerly made his way to the sideline after remaining on the ground momentarily. He returned for a play in the third quarter before leaving the game again and being ruled out.

Davis entered the game questionable with an ankle injury. He added to his list of injuries when he hurt his groin trying to defend Steelers receiver Antonio Brown on his 33-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Kelly, the Colts' first-round draft pick, left the game in the first quarter.

The Colts went into the game already without starting quarterback Andrew Luck (concussion) and safety Clayton Geathers (safety).
