Redskins add WR Brian Quick

NFL, Washington Redskins, Los Angeles Rams

The Washington Redskins signed Brian Quick on Friday, adding to the team's depth chart at wide receiver after losing two starters earlier this month.

Quick's agreement was announced by his agents on Twitter and later confirmed by the team.

Earlier this month, wide receivers DeSean Jackson (Buccaneers) and Pierre Garcon (49ers) signed elsewhere as unrestricted free agents.

Quick is the second wide receiver to sign with the Redskins in free agency, joining Terrelle Pryor, who signed a one-year contract earlier this month.

A lot was expected from Quick, 27, when the Rams drafted him 33rd overall out of Appalachian State in 2012, but he's had a penchant for drops and hasn't quite lived up to the hype.

Quick has made 105 catches for 1,499 yards and 10 touchdowns in 67 games for the Rams since, hauling in only 51 percent of his career targets. Only six receivers had a lower rate during that time.

He seemed to be getting going early in 2014, making 21 catches for 322 yards in the first four games, but he was soon set back by a devastating shoulder injury that could've ended his career.

Quick caught only 10 passes through 13 games in 2015, then was given a one-year deal for 2016. The 6-foot-3, 218-pound receiver caught three touchdown passes in the first four games, but didn't make much more of an impact while serving as the No. 3 receiver for the NFL's worst offense.
